Update Inventory not showing macOS version?

Is there something I am missing to get accurate macOS version reports from Update Inventory? Computers are checking in but not reporting updated macOS they are on.

There is nothing else in the policy except - Maintenance -> Update Inventory and Maintenance -> Reset Computer Names

What version of Jamf Pro?

What do you have selected for Computer Management > Inventory Display > Operating System ?
