Skipping setup for manually enrolled macbooks

Hello,

Is there a way to skip the setup steps on maually enrolled computers? I know prestage enrollment works with computers purchased and enrolled automatically but is there a way to do it for manually enrolled computers? I have to create local accounts on these and the whole setup steps are what waste the most time. Any configuration profiles or policies?

Thanks

If you're going through all that trouble, can you just add the Macs to your Apple Manager/DEP? This way they are supervised.

Hello, these macbooks were purchased refurbished. Can they still be added to the Apple Manager/DEP? I had an impression refurbished devices could not be added.

I believe you shouldn't have an issue. As long as they don't belong to another organization or it's not attached to someone's Apple Account.

Give 1 or 2 a try.

As @mvu said, add these devices to ABM. If you got them from a reseller or Apple directly through their refurbished store, the reseller can add them to ABM for you. If you got them second hand from somewhere else (I stand firm in the opinion that the only refurbished Apple products come from Apple themselves; everything else is used), then you can add them to ABM manually one by one and use Automated Device Enrollment.

Note: There is just one catch to manually adding a device to ABM. The user can remove the device for 30 days after it's been added. Either hold on to the devices for that 30-day window or educate your users to not click the button.
